Veteran actor Kamal Haasan has once again shown why he remains one of Indian cinema’s most respected icons. During a promotional interview for his upcoming film Thug Life, Kamal responded to a viral video featuring Natural Star Nani, in which the younger actor shared his admiration for Kamal’s performance in Virumandi.

The viral clip was from Nani’s HIT 3 promotional tour, where he described Kamal Haasan as a "gift to cinema" and expressed how deeply moved he was by a particular scene in Virumandi. In that scene, Kamal’s organic transition from sleep to wakefulness left Nani awestruck. “I watched it multiple times to check if it looked artificial, but it’s just so real,” Nani had said, crediting Kamal as a major influence in his acting journey.

In his recent Thug Life interview, Kamal acknowledged Nani’s compliment even before the interviewer completed the question. “I know he gets it,” Kamal stated, subtly pointing to the mutual respect and understanding shared between actors. “Just like in cinema, I don’t need to explain everything the audience will understand through performance,” he added.

Kamal’s gracious response has been well received by fans, reinforcing the timeless connection between generations of actors. Meanwhile, Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, is set for a grand release on June 5, heightening anticipation among film lovers across India.
