Wednesday Season 2: Teaser Drops for the Popular English Netflix Series
Netflix has officially unveiled the highly anticipated teaser for Season 2 of the global hit series Wednesday — and it’s darker, edgier, and more chaotic than ever. Starring Jenna Ortega as the iconic Wednesday Addams, the new season sees her returning to Nevermore Academy, this time seemingly more prepared for the strange and sinister. The teaser opens with a bang, quite literally, as Wednesday nonchalantly walks through airport security while revealing an arsenal of hidden weapons — including brass knuckles, a machete, and a taser — stashed beneath her gothic attire. And in true Addams fashion, it’s not the weapons that get her stopped by security, but a bottle of suntan lotion slyly packed by Thing (played by Victor Dorobantu).
Her journey back to school includes a car ride with her ever-so-eccentric parents — Morticia Addams (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams (played by Luis Guzmán). Morticia remarks, “This is the first time you've ever willingly returned to a school,” to which Wednesday coldly responds, “It feels like returning to the scene of the crime. I already know where the bodies are buried.”
Season 2 Release Plan and What to Expect
Netflix confirmed that Wednesday Season 2 will premiere in two parts:
-
Part 1 releases on August 6, 2025
-
Part 2 drops on September 3, 2025
The trailer hints at even more eerie adventures and high-stakes secrets. Wednesday, still just 16, continues to evolve as a psychic detective of sorts, interpreting her haunting visions and diving deeper into the underworld of Nevermore. “Wherever there's murder and mayhem, you will always find an Addams,” she notes in the teaser. Morticia, with a more serious tone, warns her daughter: “Every family has dark secrets, but secrets can have deadly consequences.” But Wednesday remains unfazed. “You don’t need to worry about me, Mother. I do my best work in the dark,” she replies coolly — a line that is already trending among fans.
Jenna Ortega, now 22, has previously teased what fans can expect from the upcoming season. Speaking to E! News, she said, “Everything is very graphic. Tim [Burton] really had a ball this season.” She also hinted that some of the footage from Season 2 includes her personal favorite moments from the entire show. With the teaser already generating millions of views and online buzz, the countdown to August has officially begun. Whether it's investigating another chilling murder or facing off against creatures lurking in the dark, one thing’s for sure — Wednesday is back, and she’s bringing a whole new level of chaos with her.
