Producer Confirms ₹4000 Cr Budget for Ramayana Epic Film
The buzz surrounding the budget of the upcoming Ramayana film has reached a fever pitch, and now, the producer himself has confirmed the figures. Namit Malhotra, in a recent podcast, disclosed that the total budget for both parts of this mythological epic will be around $500 million, which translates to approximately ₹4000 crores. This makes Ramayana the most expensive Indian film ever produced, far surpassing the previous high-budget films in the industry.
Ramayana is set to be a monumental project, not just in terms of its budget but also in its ambition. Malhotra expressed that despite the enormous costs, they are creating a film that will be one of the largest in the world. The producer emphasized that the budget is still lower than some Hollywood films, positioning Ramayana as a global contender in the cinematic world. With a budget of ₹4000 crores, this film will undoubtedly set a new standard for Indian cinema, making it one of the most expensive film franchises in global cinema history.
The film will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari and will feature a star-studded cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Laxman. The makers plan for a worldwide release in multiple languages, aiming for a cinematic scale similar to blockbuster franchises like Marvel or DC. The first part of Ramayana is set for release during Diwali 2026, with the second part following in Diwali 2027.
As Ramayana promises to be one of the biggest cinematic ventures in India, the announcement of its massive budget has generated immense excitement among fans and film enthusiasts alike. With such an extravagant budget, global audiences can expect a grand spectacle when the film finally hits theaters. The producers are hopeful that this epic will not only bring the ancient Indian tale to life but will also leave a lasting impact on world cinema. The film's ambitious scale, combined with top-tier talent both in front of and behind the camera, makes it a highly anticipated release that could rival any major Hollywood production in both scope and grandeur.
