As the Tollywood calendar heats up for a jam-packed May 30 release window, another notable title has locked its slot. Shashtipoorthi, a film featuring Rupeysh and Akanksha Singh in lead roles, is all set to hit the screens on May 30, adding to the competitive summer box-office slate. Directed by Pavan Prabha and produced by lead actor Rupeysh himself, Shashtipoorthi is generating attention not just for its story and cast, but for a historic musical collaboration that has the industry and fans buzzing.

Ilaiyaraaja and MM Keeravani Collaborate for the First Time
In what is being called a first-of-its-kind musical moment, Ilaiyaraaja, one of India’s most revered music composers, has teamed up with Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani. The iconic Ilaiyaraaja has composed a soulful track titled "Edo Ededo", while Keeravani has penned the lyrics a role reversal that highlights mutual respect and artistic experimentation.
This unexpected collaboration is already a talking point among music enthusiasts and cinephiles. The two songs released from the film have turned into chart-topping hits, and with the teaser receiving widespread positive response, anticipation around the film’s full soundtrack and trailer is rising fast.

Star Cast Brings Together Fresh Faces and Familiar Legends
Rupeysh and Akanksha Singh headline the film as a new on-screen pair, and their chemistry is said to bring a refreshing energy to the film’s emotional storyline. Additionally, veteran actors Rajendra Prasad and Archana reunite after nearly four decades, their last major on-screen pairing being in the cult classic Ladies Tailor. This nostalgic casting move is expected to appeal to audiences across generations, blending youthful freshness with classic Tollywood charisma.

Described by the makers as a heartfelt drama rooted in relationships, Shashtipoorthi is being marketed as an emotional and music-driven narrative. With a strong storyline, emotional depth, and rich musical backing, the film aims to strike a chord with both family audiences and younger viewers. With promotions ramping up, the official trailer is expected to drop soon, followed by a broader marketing campaign in the lead-up to the release. Given the music buzz and the unique cast combination, industry watchers are keeping a close eye on how Shashtipoorthi fares in the box office race. Stay tuned for more updates as Team Shashtipoorthi gears up for its May 30 theatrical release.
