Janam Telugu Movie Set for Re-Release in Theatres on May 29

The thought-provoking political drama Janam, which first hit theatres on November 10 last year, is making a return to the big screen. The film, starring veteran actor Suman alongside Ajay Ghosh, Kishore, Venkata Ramana, and Pragya Naina, is set to re-release on May 29, under the banner of VRP Creations and presented by P. Padmavati.

Directed, written, and produced by Venkata Ramana Pasupuleti, Janam created a buzz with its bold commentary on the current political climate and the ways in which the public is manipulated by misleading narratives. The story sheds light on real-life incidents where citizens are distracted from meaningful progress through tactics involving digital addiction, money, and alcohol tools often used to sway the masses.

With its strong messaging and timely themes, the filmmakers aim to connect with a broader audience by bringing the film back to theatres. In a recent statement, director Venkata Ramana Pasupuleti explained the motivation behind the re-release: "This film is a sincere effort to bring awareness to today’s generation, which is increasingly going out of control. It makes audiences reflect on how responsible citizens are becoming slaves to smartphones, liquor, and cash distributed by political leaders."

Pasupuleti expressed concern over the changing landscape of cinema, where superficial spectacle often overshadows meaningful storytelling. "There was a time when films made people think. Today, meaningless spectacles—like planes crashing with a look, excessive violence, and mindless loud sounds are collecting thousands of crores. We must reflect on what kind of society and future we are building," he said.

Janam combines commercial cinema elements with a powerful message, emotional depth, and thriller-like sequences. At the heart of the story is Suman, who portrays a principled and commanding police officer. His character stands as a symbol of justice and responsibility, trying to restore order in a society increasingly driven by chaos and manipulation.

Unlike many recent re-releases that aim for OTT distribution, the makers of Janam are firm about bringing it exclusively to theatres once again. "We are not planning to release it on OTT. This month, we are bringing Janam back to theatres. We urge everyone to come and watch it on the big screen," the filmmaker stated.

Janam not only questions the direction in which society is heading but also serves as a mirror to the public, reflecting how easily people can be distracted from civic responsibility. With its re-release set for May 29, the film invites audiences to engage with its message and consider the power of thoughtful cinema in shaping public discourse.
