DSP Faces Delay Criticism Ahead of Kubera Release

Devi Sri Prasad, the celebrated music composer of Tollywood, is currently facing intense scrutiny over delays in his recent projects. Once known for his energetic and trendsetting albums, DSP now finds himself amidst criticism for missing crucial deadlines, especially for high-profile projects like Kubera and Pushpa 2.

Recent reports indicate that DSP is yet to deliver two songs for Kubera, which is slated to release in just two weeks. This has raised concerns within the industry, considering the film's shoot started over a year ago and the composer’s involvement was confirmed long back. Although an audio launch was already held in Chennai, insiders suggest some key tracks are still pending.

Adding fuel to the fire, DSP was reportedly replaced by composer Sam CS for the background score of Pushpa 2 due to fears that the work might not meet expectations. Fans of the composer, who once delivered consistent chartbusters, are expressing disappointment over what they see as a decline in commitment and creative edge.

In recent years, DSP's output has dwindled significantly. In 2022, he had eight releases. That dropped to just one major release in 2023 (Waltair Veerayya) and a couple in 2024. For 2025, only Thandel has released so far. Despite the reduced workload, the delays have persisted, drawing criticism from fans and industry insiders alike.

Producers close to Kubera have avoided directly blaming DSP, suggesting coordination issues with the director might be a contributing factor. Still, the negative buzz around the music composer is growing. As expectations mount, all eyes are now on DSP to bounce back and silence critics with a blockbuster album. His legacy in the Telugu music scene is undeniable, and fans hope this rough patch is just a temporary blip in an otherwise stellar career.
