Dil Raju Bans Paid YouTube Views for Movie Trailers

In a bold move that could redefine digital marketing in Tollywood, veteran producer Dil Raju has publicly condemned the long-standing trend of buying YouTube views to inflate trailer and teaser numbers. Speaking at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Thammudu, starring Nithiin, Sapthami Gowda, and Laya, the producer drew a hard line, declaring that his promotional team has been strictly instructed not to pay for views.

“The trailer of Thammudu reflects real audience interest. No bots, no paid boosts just genuine views,” Dil Raju emphasized, making a strong case for organic engagement. He added, “When we buy views, we lose sight of what’s truly resonating with the public. It’s time to be honest with ourselves and our viewers.”

Dil Raju’s statement is a significant turning point in Telugu cinema marketing, where high view counts often dominate headlines and shape public perception even when those numbers are manipulated. He referenced past successes like Sankranthiki Vasthunnam and Court which performed well without digital inflation. In a candid moment, he recalled a previous film where 10 million views showed up overnight surprising even his own family. “Yes, we boosted views in the past,” he admitted. “But this has to stop. Content is king always.”

This declaration comes at a time when Thammudu is generating buzz ahead of its July 4th release, and Dil Raju is also innovating with his new ventures Dil Raju Dreams and LORVEN AI focused on reshaping Telugu storytelling and production strategies. Whether others in the industry will follow Dil Raju’s example remains uncertain. But for now, he’s thrown down the gauntlet and sparked a conversation that’s long overdue.
