Kannappa Event Postponed After Ahmedabad Plane Crash

Manchu Vishnu, who has been actively promoting his ambitious project Kannappa, has shown a respectful gesture amid a national tragedy. The actor and producer announced the cancellation of the planned pre-release event in Indore following the tragic Air India plane crash that occurred earlier today in Ahmedabad. The crash claimed multiple lives, sending shockwaves across the nation.

Taking to social media, Vishnu expressed his deep sorrow and solidarity with the victims' families. “My heart breaks for the lives lost in today’s Ahmedabad Air India crash. In deep mourning, we’re deferring the #Kannappa trailer release by one day and canceling tomorrow’s Indore pre‑release event. My prayers are with the families during this unimaginably difficult time,” he posted.

This gesture of empathy comes as Vishnu continues to push forward with the release of Kannappa, a mythological epic where he plays the lead role. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced under Vishnu’s own banner, the film features a massive star-studded cast. Prabhas plays a key role, while Bollywood heavyweight Akshay Kumar, along with Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, and Mukesh Rishi, are also part of this grand cinematic venture.

Originally scheduled for a pre-release promotional event in Indore on June 13, the event has now been called off as a mark of respect. Additionally, the highly anticipated trailer launch of Kannappa has been delayed by a day.

Despite this temporary halt, the release of Kannappa remains scheduled for June 27, 2025. With its unique storyline rooted in Indian mythology, a stellar ensemble cast, and high production values, the film is poised to be a major release in Telugu cinema this year.
