Anticipation is building as Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra are all set to resume filming SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited SSMB29 in August 2025. Touted as a pan-India, globe-trotting action-adventure, the film brings together two of India’s biggest stars for the first time, with a concept that promises to elevate their on-screen personas to new global heights.

A source close to the production confirmed that the next major shooting schedule will begin in August, with both leads fully committed to the demanding action-packed scenes ahead. “Mahesh has been going through rigorous physical transformation and training. Priyanka’s schedule has finally aligned after months of coordination. This next leg of filming is intense and pivotal for the narrative,” said the insider.

SSMB29 is being designed as an immersive adventure, with East Africa specifically South Africa and Tanzania chosen for its untapped natural terrain. These rugged locations provide the perfect backdrop for high-stakes action sequences, which will be helmed by international stunt teams. After the African leg, the team is also scheduled to film in parts of Europe.

Rajamouli’s vision reportedly centers around Mahesh Babu in a leaner, more intense avatar. “He’s styled as a pan-world explorer,” a crew member revealed. “The action will be grounded, shot on real locations without excessive CGI, focusing on realism and raw intensity. Priyanka, on the other hand, is playing a strong, multidimensional role that breaks away from the traditional romantic heroine stereotype.”

While the official title of the film is yet to be announced, fans are already calling it SSMB29, marking Mahesh Babu’s 29th film. Expectations are sky-high, particularly after SS Rajamouli’s previous global successes like RRR and Baahubali.

Earlier schedules were completed in Odisha and Hyderabad, giving a glimpse of the scale and diversity of the story’s locations. The film also features Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role, further adding to its pan-Indian appeal.
