Yash Raj Films has officially unveiled the trailer of the much-awaited thriller Mardaani 3, starring Rani Mukerji in her iconic role as fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. With this release, YRF also marks the beginning of its 30-year celebration of cinematic excellence.
Mardaani remains India’s only successful female cop-led film franchise and continues to hold cult status among movie lovers. In its third installment, Shivani Shivaji Roy is seen racing against time to rescue several missing girls across the country, confronting a powerful and ruthless female antagonist portrayed by Mallika Prasad. The film promises intense action, emotional depth, and socially relevant storytelling.
Janaki Bodiwala of Shaitaan fame joins the franchise in a key role, adding further strength to the cast. The film is written by Aayush Gupta, known for The Railway Men, and directed by Abhiraj Minawala under the production of Aditya Chopra.
While Mardaani highlighted human trafficking and Mardaani 2 exposed the mind of a serial offender, Mardaani 3 brings another disturbing social reality to the forefront, making it a powerful continuation of the franchise’s legacy.
