The much-anticipated clash at the box office between Dhadak 2 and Son of Sardaar 2 is officially confirmed for August 1, 2025. Dhadak 2, a romantic drama starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, is set to continue the emotional journey begun by the 2018 hit Dhadak. Backed by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud9 Pictures, the sequel brings a fresh cast and storyline, with a focus on love across social boundaries. The chemistry between Chaturvedi and Dimri, paired with a stirring soundtrack, has already generated considerable buzz, building anticipation for its release.
Despite facing off with Son of Sardaar 2, a mass-family comedy, Dhadak 2 will hold firm to its August 1 release date. Industry insiders suggest that the film’s marketing campaign and internal confidence in its narrative and visual appeal make it a strong contender at the box office. The sequel aims to capture the emotional intensity of the original Dhadak while offering a modern and fresh perspective on love and relationships.
Son of Sardaar 2, which will target a broader family audience, adds another layer of competition to the release window. While both films cater to different genres, Dhadak 2 is expected to shine with its emotional depth, particularly appealing to younger audiences and fans of romantic dramas. With the star power of Triptii Dimri, who gained popularity after her performance in Animal (2023), and Siddhant Chaturvedi, whose performance in Gully Boy continues to resonate, Dhadak 2 is poised to make a mark in the romantic drama space.
In an era where strategic scheduling often impacts a film’s success, Dhadak 2’s decision to maintain its original release date in the face of direct competition signals confidence from the production team. As the film’s marketing momentum continues to grow, it is well-positioned to capture a wide audience base and offer a compelling cinematic experience.
