Chiru 157 vs Vishwambhara: Will Anil Ravipudi’s Strategy Clash with Chiranjeevi’s Plans?
Chiranjeevi’s upcoming projects, Chiru 157 and Vishwambhara, are creating quite a stir as the two films might clash at the box office in 2025. Vishwambhara, which holds the distinction of being the most expensive film of Chiranjeevi’s career, is still awaiting an official release date. However, its director, Vassishta, has already begun giving back-to-back interviews to stir up interest. This unexpected media push is stirring the pot, especially as Anil Ravipudi's Chiru 157 is gaining attention through aggressive promotions.
Inside sources suggest that the Vishwambhara team noticed the buzz around Chiru 157 and took immediate action by sending Vassishta to keep the conversation alive. It's believed that this move was approved by Chiranjeevi himself, with the aim of balancing the media momentum.
There’s been some buzz around the potential release date for Vishwambhara. UV Creations, the production house behind the film, is reportedly eyeing an October third-week release. The official announcement is expected on August 22, coinciding with Chiranjeevi’s birthday. However, this could lead to a major dilemma for Chiru 157. If Vishwambhara takes the October slot, it would push Chiru 157 out of the Sankranti race. The question is: Will Anil Ravipudi, known for his strong stand on release dates, agree to move?
Anil Ravipudi has previously proven his mettle with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, and his commitment to releasing Chiru 157 during Sankranti might make him reluctant to shift the date. If he refuses, we could see a rare situation where two Chiranjeevi films are released within just two months of each other—a phenomenon not seen since the 80s. Since 1991, Chiranjeevi has never had more than two or three releases in a year, making such a back-to-back release a risky move in today’s competitive box office environment.
This potential clash raises several questions for Chiranjeevi fans. If Anil Ravipudi sticks to his guns and releases Chiru 157 during Sankranti, it could lead to a unique scenario where two Chiranjeevi films Vishwambhara and Chiru 157 are released within just a few months. This has never happened in recent years, and the resulting competition at the box office would be intense.
Alternatively, if Anil agrees to step back, Chiru 157 could shift to the next summer, allowing Vishwambhara to take center stage in October. However, if the clash happens as expected, it will undoubtedly spark heated discussions among fans and film industry insiders.
