Kamal Haasan Faces Backlash Over Controversial Comments on Sanatana Dharma
Kamal Haasan, the renowned actor, has landed in yet another controversy due to his remarks about Sanatana Dharma. The incident occurred during a recent event organized by actor Suriya’s Agaram Foundation, where Haasan spoke about the power of education to bring change. However, it was his comments on Sanatana Dharma that sparked outrage. Kamal stated that only education could break the chains of dictatorship and Sanatana, a statement that has now drawn severe criticism from political groups and religious communities.
The BJP’s Tamil Nadu Secretary, Amar Prasad Reddy, shared a video on social media calling for a boycott of Kamal Haasan’s films, accusing him of attempting to destroy Sanatana Dharma. Reddy urged Hindus to take a stand and avoid supporting Kamal’s movies, warning that those who speak against Sanatana Dharma should face the consequences. He also referenced similar comments made earlier by Udhayanidhi Stalin, claiming that both individuals had undermined the religion and hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus.
This is not the first time Kamal Haasan has faced backlash for his public statements. Earlier this year, he made controversial remarks about the Kannada language, suggesting that it originated from Tamil, which led to a ban on his film Thug Life in Karnataka for a month. With the latest controversy, Kamal Haasan’s comments on Sanatana Dharma have reignited tensions, and it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold. Many are now calling for stronger action, with the BJP urging people to stay away from Kamal’s films as a message against insulting religious sentiments.
