Rajinikanth Fan Decorates Temple with 5,500 Posters to Mark Superstar’s 50 Years in Cinema

In a heartfelt tribute to superstar Rajinikanth’s golden jubilee in cinema, die-hard fan Karthik has adorned the Arulmigu Sri Rajini Temple in Madurai with an astounding 5,500 posters of the actor. The temple, built in 2023 around Karthik’s home, houses a 250 kg idol of Rajinikanth, reflecting his deep devotion. As part of the celebration, Karthik performed Abhishekam, a sacred Hindu ritual involving bathing the idol with holy substances such as milk, water, and honey, accompanied by mantra chanting.

The tribute comes just days before the global release of Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, set to hit theatres on August 14, 2025. Despite clashing with Yash Raj Films’ War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, Coolie is already showing massive pre-release momentum. In Kerala alone, nearly 200,000 tickets have been sold, grossing over Rs 3 crore, with nationwide bookings expected to reach over 100,000 tickets per hour. Featuring a star-studded cast including Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Aamir Khan, Coolie will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, and is poised to be one of the year’s biggest cinematic events.
