War 2 is gearing up for a grand Independence Day weekend release, and its advance booking numbers hint at a strong start. The Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer has already sold over 67,000 tickets across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions for Day 1. According to trade reports, the film has grossed around Rs 2.4 crore in advance sales for its opening day, while total figures including block seats stand at Rs 6.12 crore. Notably, many Telugu cinemas have yet to open bookings, a move expected to significantly boost sales given Jr NTR’s massive fan base in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is the sixth film in YRF’s successful spy universe and promises high-octane action. Promotions kicked off in Hyderabad, where Jr NTR received a rousing welcome from thousands of fans. The film also features Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, Shabir Ahluwalia, with special appearances by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.

The film will face stiff competition in the South from Rajinikanth’s Coolie, a highly anticipated release in its own right. While the clash could limit War 2’s earnings in southern states, the North Indian market is expected to respond strongly, driven by Hrithik Roshan’s screen presence and the holiday release window. Set to release on August 14, War 2 aims to deliver both massive box office numbers and thrilling entertainment.
