Anil Kapoor To Re-Enter Tollywood After 45 Years With Suriya & Venky Atluri Film?

Senior Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, who continues to remain one of the most energetic performers even in his 60s, is reportedly set to make a grand return to Tollywood after nearly 45 years. While Kapoor has enjoyed a celebrated Bollywood career with Senior. Numerous blockbusters, many Telugu audiences reconnected with him recently through his powerful role in Animal. But few may recall that his first solo lead role actually began in Telugu cinema with Bapu’s film Vamsa Vruksham in 1980. However, after the film failed at the box office, directors in Tollywood overlooked his potential, leading Kapoor to shift focus to Bollywood, where he went on to become one of the top stars of the 80s and 90s.

Now, industry reports suggest that director Venky Atluri has approached Anil Kapoor for a significant role in his upcoming entertainer featuring Suriya. If finalized, this collaboration would mark Kapoor’s official re-entry into Telugu cinema, since his appearance in War 2 alongside Jr NTR is classified as part of a Hindi production. This upcoming project, produced by Sithara Entertainments, is being mounted on a lavish scale and will be shot as a bilingual in both Telugu and Tamil, making it a true South Indian crossover venture.

The buzz surrounding this potential collaboration is already high, as fans are excited to witness the fresh pairing of Suriya and Anil Kapoor on the big screen. Venky Atluri, known for balancing entertainment with emotional storytelling, is expected to present Kapoor in a pivotal character that adds depth to the film. With Suriya recently wrapping up Karuppu, his complete focus is now on this project, which is scheduled for a summer 2026 release. If the talks materialize, Anil Kapoor’s comeback to Telugu cinema will not only create hype in the South but also attract significant attention in the North, giving the film a pan-Indian edge.
