TG Govt Open to Movie Ticket Hikes with Conditions for Film Workers

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced a bold initiative to support the state’s film industry, positioning it alongside IT and pharmaceutical sectors. Speaking at a felicitation event organized by the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation and the 24 Crafts Union in Hyderabad, he vowed to make Hyderabad a global destination for filmmaking and promised efforts to attract Hollywood projects.

Among the key decisions, Revanth Reddy revealed that movie ticket hikes would be allowed only if producers agree to give 20% of their profits to film federation employees. In addition, the government pledged a 10 Crore welfare fund, housing schemes, corporate-style education for workers’ children, and extension of Rajeev Arogya Sree health benefits to families, aiming to safeguard the welfare of Tollywood employees.

These incentives come after the producers council recently addressed some worker demands by increasing daily wages following government intervention. The new conditions for ticket hikes could have a significant impact on producer strategies, ensuring that benefits reach thousands of workers while maintaining the growth and sustainability of Telangana’s film industry.
