The Malayalam film Kotha Loka 1: Chandra, directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan's production house Wayfarer Films, has made a massive impact in Telugu states. Released by producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments, the film has gained a huge following in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and worldwide. The movie, promoted as India’s first female superhero film, has grossed over ₹100 crores in its first week, marking a sensational success.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Gratitude to Telugu Audiences

During the success celebration held in Hyderabad, Dulquer Salmaan expressed his heartfelt thanks to Telugu audiences for embracing Kotha Loka 1: Chandra as their own. He shared how much the film means to him, particularly as it has captured the hearts of viewers across India. "Just like you embraced me as your own, now you’re embracing Kotha Loka as your own Telugu cinema. That means a lot to me," Dulquer said.

He praised the team behind the film for their dedication. "We have produced seven films under the Wayfarer Films banner. Working with such a brilliant team for Kotha Loka has been a joy. I trusted them completely and gave them the freedom to work on their vision," he added.

Kalyani Priyadarshan and Vidyut Jamwal Shine in Their Roles

Kalyani Priyadarshan, playing the lead role of Chandra, is receiving accolades for her strong performance. Dulquer described her as a sister and expressed that she was the only choice for the role due to their strong chemistry. "We think alike and vibe the same way. For Chandra’s role, no other name came to mind," he said.

Vidyut Jamwal, known for his action-packed roles, plays the villain in the film. Dulquer shared how Vidyut immediately agreed to take up the role after hearing the story, despite being a popular hero. "The villain’s role is powerful and Vidyut brought it to life with amazing intensity," Dulquer remarked.

The Success of Kotha Loka 1: Chandra and Its Impact on Cinema

The movie's groundbreaking success is attributed to its unique storyline and brilliant execution. Director Nag Ashwin, who attended the success celebration, expressed his admiration for the film. "I watched the first show in Chennai, and I loved it. The writing is fantastic, and technically it’s brilliant," Ashwin said. He also praised Dulquer for producing the film with love for cinema, much like his role in Mahanati.Director Venky Atluri also showered praises on the film’s technical aspects, calling it "technically brilliant." He added, "The performances are stellar, and Kalyani’s action sequences are top-notch. I am proud to know her."

The success celebration event saw an overwhelming turnout, with filmmakers, actors, and crew members sharing their thoughts.
