Debut filmmaker Ganesh Chandra is all set to bring a fresh romantic comedy to the screen with his film Pookie. The movie stars Ajay Dhishan and newcomer Dhanusha in lead roles, and the music will be composed by renowned musician Vijay Antony.

Speaking about the film, Ganesh shared, "It's a fun love story that reflects today’s generation. The story revolves around a couple that has been together for six years but faces challenges when ego comes between them." He also compared the tone of Pookie to Pa Ranjith’s Attakathi, suggesting that it offers a similar kind of energy and relatability for modern audiences.

This marks an interesting collaboration between Ganesh and Vijay Antony, as Ganesh started his career as a cinematographer on Vijay Antony’s 2014 film Salim. According to Ganesh, this is a rare instance where Vijay Antony is composing music for a film without acting in it, which further heightens the anticipation for the film's soundtrack.

The movie also features actor Sunil in an important role as a spiritual master. Ganesh explained that Sunil’s character is not a villain, but instead, plays a serious role that is central to the storyline. “I had him in mind while writing the script,” Ganesh added, highlighting Sunil’s significant presence in the film.
