OG, one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year, is all set for a grand worldwide release on September 25. With Pawan Kalyan leading the film under the direction of Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya, expectations have been sky-high, especially among overseas fans. However, an official update from the USA distributors has left fans somewhat disappointed.
Prathyangira Cinemas, which holds the overseas rights, announced on social media that OG will not be screened in premium formats like IMAX, DBoxtech, 4DX, or Dolby. The decision, they clarified, was due to prior commitments with Hollywood studios for those formats. Instead, the film will release in PLF (Premium Large Format) and standard screenings across the USA.
This update comes as a setback for fans who were expecting to witness the grand visuals of OG on IMAX screens. The posters, lyrical songs, and teasers released so far have set the bar very high with their impressive quality, making audiences eager for a larger-than-life viewing experience. Many fans had anticipated that an IMAX release would amplify the impact of the action sequences and visuals, but the latest update confirms otherwise.
Despite this disappointment, the excitement around OG remains undiminished. Pawan Kalyan’s presence alone has generated massive buzz, and distributors are planning an extensive release across multiple theatres in the USA. The film’s scale, combined with the star power, is expected to pull crowds in large numbers, regardless of format. Industry analysts believe that even without IMAX, the film has the potential to create havoc at the box office, thanks to the overwhelming anticipation.
