Sudheer Babu’s Son Darshan To Play Young Mahesh Babu In Rajamouli’s Varanasi

Sudheer Babu has been working hard to regain commercial success after facing a series of setbacks, but now the spotlight has shifted to his son Darshan. The young actor has already appeared as a child artist in a few films, and he seems to be heading toward a promising future. According to insider sources, Darshan is in discussions to play the childhood version of superstar Mahesh Babu in SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film Varanasi. This news has created an immediate buzz among fans, who are eager to see whether the Mama Alludu combination will once again create magic on screen.

Reports reveal that the shooting for the childhood portions in Varanasi will commence soon, and Darshan has been locked for the role. Many fans initially expected Mahesh Babu’s son Gautham to portray the younger version of his father. However, Gautham’s age no longer suits the requirement, and he is also reportedly unavailable at the moment. Darshan, on the other hand, is said to closely resemble Mahesh Babu’s younger look in Varanasi, especially with his hairstyle matching the character’s design. This resemblance is believed to have played a crucial part in him being chosen for the role.

Darshan is not new to playing major child roles. He previously portrayed the younger version of Prabhas in the film Fauzi. With both Fauzi and Varanasi expected to make strong impressions at the box office, Darshan’s career could receive a significant boost. If these films become hits, they will serve as valuable additions to his growing portfolio as a child actor. Varanasi, produced by Durga Arts, is slated for a grand release in 2027, and expectations are sky high. With Rajamouli directing and Darshan stepping into the shoes of young Mahesh Babu, all eyes are on how this casting choice will influence the film’s emotional depth and audience connection.
