Tamannaah Bhatia’s First Look As Jayashree In V Shantaram Biopic Unveiled

Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has stepped into one of the most iconic chapters of Indian cinema through her role as Jayashree, the celebrated second wife of legendary filmmaker V Shantaram. The makers unveiled her first look poster, presenting Tamannaah in a striking vintage portrayal that immediately transports viewers to the golden era of Indian filmmaking. Draped in a graceful pink Nauvari saree, she carries the elegance and presence reminiscent of Jayashree, who was known both for her beauty and her remarkable contribution to Indian cinema. The poster has set strong expectations among audiences who eagerly await this biographical drama.

V Shantaram aims to chronicle the life, journey and artistic revolution sparked by one of the most influential filmmakers the country has produced. The film touches his evolution from the silent film era to becoming a visionary auteur who changed the way Indian cinema told stories. Tamannaah joins Siddhant Chaturvedi, who plays V Shantaram, making this a notable pairing for a story rooted deeply in cinematic heritage. Jayashree, remembered for classics such as Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, Shakuntala, Dahej and more, stands as an important part of Shantaram’s personal and artistic life, making Tamannaah’s role a pivotal one.

Reflecting on her role, Tamannaah expressed that portraying Jayashree is an honour and a responsibility. She shared that stepping into the life of a woman who lived through one of cinema’s most influential eras has given her a deeper appreciation of old-world artistry and Shantaram’s creative legacy. She added that bringing Jayashree alive on screen is both special and emotional, and thanked the creators for believing she could embody the role.

The biopic is produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale and Sarita Ashwin Varde, under Rajkamal Entertainment, Camera Take Films and Roaring Rivers Production. Directed by Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, V Shantaram is expected to celebrate the revolutionary thinker who shaped Indian filmmaking with powerful storytelling, bold themes and cinematic innovation. With the first look now revealed, the film has gained strong momentum ahead of further announcements and teasers.

Tamannaah’s transformation, along with the film’s theme rooted in history and artistry, has made this project one of the most awaited biopics in recent years. Fans of classic cinema and modern audiences alike are now watching closely as V Shantaram moves forward in production, promising a tribute to a man who changed the face of Indian cinema forever.
