The long wait for fans of Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel is finally coming to an end as their much-anticipated action drama Dragon is set to resume shooting after a gap of nearly six months. Announced in 2021, the project created massive expectations, but progress had been slow due to planning delays and script-related changes. The team had briefly shot portions earlier this year, with Jr NTR joining the sets for a limited schedule, after which the film went silent for several months, leaving fans eager for updates.

It is now confirmed that Dragon will be made in two parts instead of a single film as initially planned. The makers reportedly used the long break to rework key portions of the script to strengthen the narrative. Shooting is scheduled to restart on December 13 in Hyderabad, marking a crucial phase for the project. Director Prashanth Neel is relocating from Bangalore to Hyderabad for this demanding schedule, while Jr NTR, who is currently in the city, is expected to join the shoot immediately. The upcoming schedule will involve over 20 continuous night shoots focused on a high-impact action sequence.

Jr NTR will be seen in his leanest physical transformation to date, signaling an intense and physically demanding role. The team plans to shoot both parts simultaneously and aims to complete the first part by mid-2026. The release is expected in December 2026 or early 2027. The film stars Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, with Ravi Basrur composing the music.
