Akhanda 2 box office collection after 4 days, Balakrishna film faces big test

Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Srinu, hit theatres with massive expectations due to the blockbuster track record of the actor-director duo. Initially planned for a December 5 release, the film faced financial delays and eventually released on December 12, with paid premieres on the night of December 11.

The film opened well despite receiving mixed talk from the very first show. However, collections saw a steep decline on the second day. Day three showed a mild recovery, but day four again witnessed a sharp drop of more than 65 percent. The performance so far indicates that the film is facing a challenging run at the box office.

Akhanda 2 did a theatrical business of approximately ₹101 crore and requires a share of ₹102 crore to reach the break-even point. After four days, the film has collected ₹52.65 crore share and around ₹88 crore gross worldwide. This means the movie still needs about ₹49.35 crore share to enter the safe zone.

With the first extended weekend over, the coming weekdays and the second weekend will be extremely crucial. Trade analysts believe that steady weekday collections combined with a strong second weekend are essential if Akhanda 2 is to reduce losses and move closer to breakeven. The film’s performance over the next few days will decide whether it can regain momentum or continue to slow down at the box office.
