Prabhas Launches Script Craft International Short Film Festival To Empower Global Talent

Pan India star Prabhas has announced a major global cinema initiative with the launch of The Script Craft International Short Film Festival, a platform designed to connect aspiring filmmakers with producers, production houses and worldwide audiences. Presented through a striking announcement video, the new festival aims to create opportunities for storytellers across continents, offering a direct path to visibility, growth and careers in filmmaking. Known for redefining Indian cinema through Baahubali, Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas introduces this project as a space where talent and ambition meet real-world opportunity.

The Script Craft festival welcomes short films from two minutes and above, across genres, submitted by creators around the world. Over 90 days, audience votes and ratings will determine the top three winners, giving the public an active role in shaping recognition. Unlike traditional formats, the festival promises visibility for every submission, with major production houses already monitoring entries on the platform to discover emerging talent. Prabhas described the initiative as a launchpad for storytellers who are ready to share their voice, stating that every dream deserves a beginning and every story deserves a chance.

The announcement video includes messages from leading directors who emphasised the value of short films in developing creative expression. Sandeep Reddy Vanga noted that the gap between writing and screen output is significant, calling short films a key step for new directors. Nag Ashwin shared that talent discovery often happens outside formal structures, explaining how the film Jathi Ratnalu came to life after seeing a short film. Director Hanu Raghavapudi encouraged young creators to express their ideas boldly and use the platform to pursue filmmaking ambitions.

The festival also features a partnership with Quick TV, which will select 15 standout directors based on submissions. Each selected filmmaker will receive funding for a 90 minute script, full production support and a global digital premiere. This pathway offers a rare opportunity for creators to transition from short form cinema to feature level execution, supported by industry resources.

The Script Craft initiative is founded by Thaalla Vaishnav and Pramod Uppalapati, with Prabhas backing the platform’s mission to democratise filmmaking on a global scale. Registrations are open now on the official Script Craft website, with detailed submission timelines and categories expected soon. Organisers expressed optimism that upcoming creators from any background or region can emerge as international storytellers through this festival.

As Prabhas continues to expand his impact beyond starring roles, the festival arrives alongside his growing list of film projects including The RajaSaab, Fauzi, Spirit, Salaar Part 2 and Kalki 2898 AD Part 2. The Script Craft International Short Film Festival signals a new chapter in global cinema engagement, offering artists the chance to showcase their vision to the world.
