The pan-Indian film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has created history even before reaching theatres, setting a new benchmark in Indian cinema distribution. In a sensational development that has taken the trade by surprise, Sri Venkateswara Creations, led by Dil Raju, has acquired the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana distribution rights of the film for a massive ₹120 crore on an advance commission basis. This deal officially becomes the biggest-ever acquisition for a non-Telugu origin film in the AP–TG market, highlighting the unprecedented confidence surrounding the project.
The agreement between the film’s producers, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, and SVC further establishes Toxic as one of the most anticipated cinematic events in recent times. Trade sources indicate that multiple major players were aggressively competing for the AP–TG rights, but SVC emerged victorious, sealing a deal that is already being described as historic. The scale of the acquisition reflects the industry’s strong belief in the film’s box-office potential, content strength, and pan-Indian appeal.
Rocking Star Yash continues to redefine stardom beyond linguistic boundaries, and Toxic stands as a powerful example of that phenomenon. Ever since the monumental success of KGF Chapter 2, anticipation for Yash’s next project has been steadily building across the country. In the Telugu states especially, his popularity remains exceptionally strong, with fans eagerly awaiting his return to the big screen. The overwhelming response to Toxic in pre-release buzz, on-ground fan excitement, and trade interest reflects how Yash has become a truly national icon.
Speaking about the acquisition, Dil Raju described Yash as one of the strongest forces in Indian cinema today, noting that his market has expanded significantly across regions after KGF Chapter 2. He emphasized that the four-year wait for Yash’s next film has only intensified expectations, making Toxic a highly prestigious project for Sri Venkateswara Creations to present in the Telugu states. The association with SVC, a banner known for National Award-winning films and consistent blockbusters, further reinforces the film’s credibility and commercial prospects.
Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic has been simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages. This approach underlines the film’s global ambition and its positioning as a true pan-world cinematic experience rather than a region-specific release.
Toxic features an impressive technical team, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid. The action sequences are designed on a massive scale, choreographed by Hollywood action director JJ Perry, best known for the John Wick franchise, along with National Award-winning action directors Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 19 March 2026, strategically aligning with major festivals such as Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. With record-breaking distribution deals, immense fan anticipation, and a high-profile creative team, Toxic is shaping up to be one of the most significant cinematic events Indian cinema has seen in recent years.
