Hyderabad Police Bust Piracy Racket, Tollywood Stars Unite Against Movie Leak Threat

Hyderabad police recently busted a large-scale movie piracy operation that had been troubling the Telugu film industry. Following the crackdown, top industry figures including producers, exhibitors, digital partners, and film stars met with police officials to discuss the case and explore preventive measures against future leaks.

Police revealed that piracy mainly occurs in two ways. First, criminals record films inside theaters using mobile devices. Second, cybercriminals hack into digital distribution systems even before theatrical release, stealing original content directly from studios.

The investigation identified notorious piracy websites such as TamilMV, Telugu Blasters, and Movierulz. Authorities stated these websites generate revenue from sponsors, including betting and gaming companies. The pirated movies are distributed via torrent sites, Telegram groups, and illegal streaming platforms. Police also warned that user data collected from these sites is often exploited for other cybercrimes.

Leading Tollywood stars and producers including Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Nani, and Dil Raju attended the meeting, expressing gratitude to the police and pledging their full support in combating piracy. With strong collaboration between law enforcement and the film industry, officials hope this will mark a turning point in curbing digital theft in Telugu cinema.
