Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan Slam Jana Nayagan Film Leak, Cite Systemic Failures

Veteran actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have voiced strong condemnation over the leak of Jana Nayagan, calling it a "shock" and a reminder of deeper systemic failures within the film industry. Rajinikanth called for strict legal action against those responsible for the leak, while Kamal Haasan linked the incident to delays and lapses in the film's certification process, which contributed to its exposure online.

The leaked footage of Jana Nayagan surfaced on social media platforms and pirate websites, triggering widespread concern. Both actors emphasized that piracy is not just an isolated event but a major threat to the entire ecosystem of cinema. They pointed out that such incidents not only harm the involved filmmakers but also jeopardize the future of the film industry itself.

Several other industry members, including actor Vishal, expressed their disappointment over the leak, calling it "heartbreaking" and lamenting the wasted effort of the film team. RJ Balaji also described the leak as “shocking and heartbreaking” and expressed empathy for the filmmakers. Actor Suriya joined the chorus, urging the public not to engage with the leaked content, stressing that it undermines the entire team's hard work.

The film, Jana Nayagan, has been facing significant delays due to issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The board flagged certain scenes for review, delaying the film’s certification, which in turn contributed to its postponed release. In addition, rumors suggest that the delays were partly influenced by actor Vijay’s involvement in the Tamil Nadu elections.

KVN Productions, the film’s production house, has initiated forensic investigations into the leak, emphasizing that all digital actions are traceable. The production team has vowed to take strict civil and criminal action against all individuals involved in the piracy chain. The statement further warned the public against engaging with the leaked content in any form, urging everyone to delete the footage immediately.
