SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi to Debut Globally at CCXP Mexico 2026
Varanasi, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, is steadily building momentum as one of the most ambitious Indian projects currently in production. Starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film has already generated significant global buzz through its early announcements and promotional material. Taking its outreach a step further, the makers are now set to unveil exclusive content at CCXP Mexico, marking the film’s first major international showcase. This move reflects a strategic push to position Varanasi as a global cinematic event right from its production stage.

The presentation at CCXP Mexico will take place at the Thunder Stage on April 24 and will feature a dedicated panel focused entirely on the film. Attendees can expect a specially curated “Varanasi to the World” glimpse along with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage designed exclusively for the event. While Rajamouli will connect with audiences through a recorded video message, the session will also include live interactions that offer insights into the film’s scale, creative vision, and technical execution. Such an international platform not only builds anticipation but also highlights the growing influence of Indian cinema on the global stage.

Planned for a worldwide release on April 7, 2027, Varanasi is being developed on a massive scale with a reported budget of around Rs 1,200 crore. The film is designed for an immersive IMAX experience, underlining its emphasis on grand visuals and large-format storytelling. With music composed by MM Keeravani and extensive sets recreating the ghats and temples of Varanasi, the production showcases meticulous attention to detail. Early story hints suggest a blend of mythology and adventure, following a time-traveling quest centered around a powerful cosmic artefact. As the film continues to expand its global footprint through events like CCXP Mexico, it stands poised to redefine the reach and ambition of Indian cinema worldwide.
