Mammootty Mohanlal Patriot Pre Sales Cross Rs 9 Cr Eyes Rs 25 Cr Opening

Mammootty Mohanlal Patriot Pre Sales Cross Rs 9 Cr Eyes Rs 25 Cr Opening

Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal, is generating massive buzz ahead of its theatrical release on May 1, 2026. The film has already recorded strong pre-release numbers across India and overseas markets, signaling a potentially huge opening at the box office.

Advance bookings for Patriot have picked up rapidly, with the film crossing Rs 3.5 crore in Kerala alone. Across India, the total pre-sales have gone beyond Rs 4 crore, while worldwide advance bookings are nearing Rs 9 crore. The response has been particularly strong in the Gulf region, where collections have already crossed Rs 4 crore even before release.

Ticket sales opened in Kerala on April 28 and witnessed an instant surge. Nearly 10,000 tickets were sold within minutes, and by afternoon, the number had surged to around 85,000 tickets. This early momentum highlights strong audience anticipation and places Patriot among the top pre-sales performers in Malayalam cinema. Internationally, the film has also crossed USD 200,000 in advance bookings, indicating solid overseas demand.

Trade analysts suggest that Patriot is on track for a global opening of around Rs 25 crore. The domestic box office is expected to contribute Rs 10 to 12 crore, while overseas markets could bring in approximately Rs 15 crore depending on last-minute bookings. If these estimates hold, the film could become one of the biggest Malayalam openers ever.

Currently, the record for the highest opening in Malayalam cinema is held by Empuraan, also headlined by Mohanlal, which reportedly grossed around Rs 70 crore on its first day. While Patriot may not reach that level, it is still positioned to secure a top-tier opening.

Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and Darshana Rajendran. With high expectations, strong star power, and impressive pre-sales figures, Patriot is poised to make a significant impact at the global box office upon release.
