The final trailer for Supergirl provides fans with an extended look at Kara Zor‑El, played by Milly Alcock, asserting her distinct perspective on heroism compared to her cousin Superman, portrayed by David Corenswet. Kara insists on confronting reality rather than seeing the good in everyone, setting up a morally complex and action‑driven narrative. The trailer introduces Eve Ridley’s Ruthye Marye Knoll as Kara’s ally, forming an unexpected partnership in their battle against a mysterious villain, Matthias Schoenaerts’ Krem of the Yellow Hills.
The trailer also revisits elements of Krypton’s backstory, shedding light on Jor‑El and Lara’s intentions in sending Kal‑El and Kara to Earth. David Krumholtz reprises his role as Zor‑El, expanding the House of El’s story and emphasizing Kara’s aggressive approach to protecting the world while challenging traditional DC hero ideals.
Jason Momoa Joins the DC Universe
A major highlight of the trailer is the cinematic debut of Jason Momoa as Lobo. His appearance signals a darker, unpredictable presence that could influence the story’s conflict and alliances. The film also links to the wider DC Universe as part of Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters, with Supergirl set to appear in upcoming films including Man of Tomorrow.
Produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran, and directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl will be the first solo film for the character since 1984, introducing a new generation to the El family and connecting legacy elements from past DCU projects. The combination of character drama, action, and world-building promises a high-stakes summer blockbuster experience.
