Yash Raj Films has unveiled the trailer of Alpha, the latest addition to its expanding spy universe, introducing Alia Bhatt in a powerful new avatar. The trailer positions Alia Bhatt’s character as a highly trained operative named Sita, shaped into a lethal assassin raised for high-risk missions. The narrative frames her journey as one of transformation, where she confronts her former mentor-turned-adversary, played by Bobby Deol. The storyline builds around betrayal, survival, and identity, placing her at the core of a high-stakes global espionage mission.
Spy action meets mythological symbolism
The trailer draws strong inspiration from the Ramayana, with Alia’s character repeatedly referencing herself as a modern-day Sita undergoing “agnipariksha.” Dialogues and visual metaphors suggest a reinterpretation of mythological themes in a modern espionage setting. This fusion of mythology and action is presented through stylized combat sequences, global locations, and high-intensity chase visuals.
YRF spy universe continues to expand
Alpha is the seventh installment in the YRF spy universe, following major films like Pathaan, War, and the Tiger franchise.
