The ZEE5 Telugu Content Slate features major Tollywood films such as Venky Anil 5, NBK111 and Vrushakarma, alongside original series and returning shows. The platform’s seven-language lineup also includes major Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam projects as it expands its regional entertainment strategy.
Telugu Slate Brings Major Star Films
ZEE5 has strengthened its investment in Tollywood by announcing a Telugu lineup featuring star-driven theatrical films, original series and returning entertainment shows. The Telugu movie slate includes Venky Anil 5, NBK111 and Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma, three projects expected to attract significant attention after their cinema releases.
Venky Anil 5 brings together Venkatesh and filmmaker Anil Ravipudi, while NBK111 is led by Nandamuri Balakrishna. Vrushakarma, featuring Naga Chaitanya, is being developed as a mystical action-adventure directed by Karthik Varma Dandu. Reports have also highlighted strong pre-release interest in the film’s digital and satellite rights.
By securing projects associated with established Telugu stars and filmmakers, ZEE5 is positioning its platform as an important post-theatrical destination for Tollywood audiences. The acquisitions could help it compete more strongly for viewers seeking new Telugu cinema on streaming services.
ZEE5 Originals Expand Telugu Programming
The platform’s Telugu strategy extends beyond movie acquisitions. Shrimathi, starring Nivetha Thomas, and Objection Mylord, featuring Srikanth, are among the original shows included in the newly announced lineup.
Popular talk show Jayammu Nishchayammu Ra is also returning, adding an unscripted entertainment property to the platform’s Telugu catalogue. The combination of films, scripted series and talk shows indicates that ZEE5 is seeking regular audience engagement rather than depending only on occasional movie premieres.
The Telugu slate is supported by partnerships with companies including Annapurna Studios, Sri Venkateswara Creations, Sithara Entertainments and Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. These collaborations give the platform access to filmmakers and producers with a strong presence in regional cinema.
Regional Lineup Strengthens Seven-Language Strategy
ZEE5’s broader slate covers Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bangla. The lineup includes original series, direct-to-digital films, theatrical premieres, returning franchises, live sports, animation and children’s entertainment.
The Hindi film lineup includes Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Bandar, Bharat Bhagya Vidhata and Pooja Meri Jaan. The platform is also reviving franchises such as Rangbaaz, Janaawar and Bakaiti while bringing back The Zee Horror Show.
In Tamil, the announced titles include Koose Munisamy Veerappan, Thadayam, Ananthakaalam, Thee Kural and Demonte Colony 3. The Kannada slate features Ayyana Mane, Bitcoin Scam, Operation Bangara and Karavali, while Malayalam projects include A Queen, Malabar Cup, Kerala Underground and Balan the Boy.
Multilingual Push Targets Wider OTT Growth
ZEE5 has described the new slate as its biggest statement of intent, combining regional storytelling with major stars, established production houses and multiple entertainment formats. The strategy reflects the growing demand for viewers to move easily between languages, genres and formats on one platform.
The Telugu lineup is particularly important because Tollywood films enjoy strong theatrical and digital audiences across India. Projects featuring Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Naga Chaitanya, Nivetha Thomas and Srikanth could improve visibility and subscriber engagement among Telugu-speaking viewers.
With major movie rights, original shows and returning programmes, the ZEE5 Telugu Content Slate represents a serious push into the competitive regional OTT market. Its success will ultimately depend on release timing, audience response and whether the announced projects deliver sustained viewership after their premieres.
