The Gandhi Jayanti holiday is shaping up to be an important date for Telugu cinema, with Sundeep Kishan’s Sigma and Venkatesh Daggubati’s Aadarsha Kutumbam – AK 47 scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 2, 2026. The simultaneous releases are expected to create an interesting box office battle between two films targeting different sections of the audience.
AK 47 brings together Venkatesh and director Trivikram Srinivas, a combination that has already generated considerable interest among moviegoers. Sigma, meanwhile, has attracted attention for being an action-heist entertainer starring Sundeep Kishan and marking Jason Vijay’s directorial debut.

Sigma has gained additional attention because Jason Vijay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, actor and TVK chief Vijay Joseph, is making his debut as a filmmaker with the project. AK 47 Reunites Venkatesh With Trivikram Srinivas
Aadarsha Kutumbam – AK 47 is one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year because of the collaboration between Venkatesh Daggubati and filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on October 2, taking advantage of the Gandhi Jayanti holiday period.
