Heer Express : Latest Hindi Movie Review

Plot

Heer Express follows Heer Walia (Divita Juneja), a spirited Punjabi girl living with her uncles. Skilled at running a dhaba, fixing cars, and even riding horses, Heer gets a life-changing chance to run an Indian restaurant in London. As she embarks on her new journey, she experiences love with Rohan (Prit Kamani), but soon faces shocking revelations, professional struggles, and cultural challenges that test her resilience and values.

Overview

The film starts as a light-hearted rom-com set in Punjab and London, but gradually shifts into an emotional drama exploring family, love, and personal growth. While the themes are inspiring and relatable, predictability in the script prevents it from being truly gripping.

Performances

  • Divita Juneja: A confident debut balancing strength and vulnerability, marking her as a promising newcomer.

  • Prit Kamani: Earnest, versatile, and with natural chemistry alongside Divita.

  • Sanjay Mishra & Gulshan Grover: Provide strong comic relief in the first half.

  • Ashutosh Rana: Adds intensity and gravitas to the London track.
The ensemble ensures that the film maintains balance between humor, drama, and emotion.

Technical Aspects

Director Umesh Shukla delivers a heartfelt yet safe narrative. Cinematography captures both Punjab’s warmth and London’s cosmopolitan vibe well. However, pacing dips in the second half with predictable arcs. Editing could have been tighter to maintain flow.

Music

Punjabi-inspired background score complements the narrative well. While peppy tracks in the first half keep things lively, the songs lack lasting impact and a strong chartbuster.

Editing

The film is just over two hours long. Some trimming, especially in the second half, would have elevated engagement and reduced predictability.

Positives

  • Divita Juneja’s confident debut
  • Charming chemistry between leads
  • Comic relief by Mishra & Grover
  • Warm, family-centric storytelling

Negatives

  • Predictable screenplay
  • Songs lack recall value
  • Pacing issues in the second half

Analysis

Heer Express is a feel-good entertainer with heartwarming themes of resilience, love, and family. While it falters in unpredictability and music, strong performances and a balanced mix of humor and drama keep it engaging. It’s a safe watch that works as a pleasant weekend entertainer but misses the spark of being truly memorable.
