Dubai princess Sheikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, daughter of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is officially engaged to Moroccan-American rapper French Montana. The surprising announcement comes just a year after the 31-year-old royal ended her first marriage through a bold Instagram post.
French Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, proposed during Paris Fashion Week in June, right after his runway debut at the 3.Paradis Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2026 show. His representative confirmed the engagement to TMZ on Wednesday.
Sheikha Mahra had earlier married Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum in May 2023, but she announced their divorce in July 2024 with a public Instagram note that quickly went viral. In the now-deleted post, she wrote: “Dear Husband. As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you.” The couple share a one-year-old daughter.
A royal love story in the spotlight
The princess and French Montana were first linked in late 2024 and have since been spotted together multiple times, from strolling across Paris’s Pont des Arts bridge to enjoying desert camel rides and intimate dinners in Dubai and Morocco. Earlier this year, they drew headlines after appearing hand-in-hand during Paris Fashion Week.
While a wedding date has not been announced yet, reports suggest both families are supportive of the union. French Montana, best known for global hits like Unforgettable and No Stylist, has previously been in the spotlight for his past relationship with Khloe Kardashian.
The engagement marks a new chapter for Sheikha Mahra, who is widely admired in Dubai for her public presence, charitable work, and strong social media following. With her new relationship, she once again captures attention on the global stage, this time in the world of music and fashion.
