Authorities confirmed that he has been named as the prime accused in the First Information Report following the deadly stampede during actor-politician Vijay’s public rally. The event, which drew nearly two lakh attendees despite permission for only 10,000, ended in chaos that left dozens dead and many injured. Police have cited overcrowding, negligence in safety arrangements, and delays in managing the crowd as key factors that triggered the disaster.

The FIR lists serious charges including culpable homicide not amounting to murder and public endangerment. Several TVK functionaries are under investigation, while Vijay himself has not been named in the complaint. Officials are now reviewing safety protocols, crowd control measures, and lapses in coordination that allowed the uncontrolled surge.
