The National Testing Agency (NTA) is under intense scrutiny following reports of multiple factual errors in the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 examination papers. Students and educators, particularly from Kota, Rajasthan—a hub for engineering aspirants—have identified at least nine disputed questions across physics, chemistry, and mathematics. These concerns emerged after the release of the provisional answer keys and response sheets on April 11.

In physics, four questions have been flagged for inaccuracies. One notable error involves a question on hydrogen-like ions, where the NTA's solution assumes an atomic number of 2, whereas the correct value should be 3. Another physics question on current electricity lists 125mA as the correct answer, while calculations suggest it should be 5mA. Additionally, a question on equivalent resistance reportedly offers no correct option among the choices provided.

Chemistry and mathematics sections are not exempt from scrutiny. Three chemistry questions and two mathematics questions have been challenged for containing errors that could significantly impact student scores. Experts from leading coaching institutes have reviewed these questions and corroborated the students' claims, emphasizing that these are not minor ambiguities but clear factual mistakes.

Beyond the question paper errors, students and parents have reported discrepancies in the response sheets. Some candidates found that their selected answers were incorrectly recorded, while others noticed blank responses for questions they had attempted. One parent shared that her daughter, who attempted 71 questions, found her response sheet showing all questions as unanswered. Such issues have raised concerns about the integrity of the examination process.

Educators and commentators have taken to social media to express their frustration. One educator highlighted a modern physics question from the April 7 AM shift as conceptually flawed, stating that if the NTA doesn't correct it, it would be an injustice to the students. The sentiment is echoed by many who believe that such basic mistakes in a national-level exam are unacceptable.

The NTA has acknowledged the objections and stated that subject matter experts are reviewing all submitted challenges. Candidates were allowed to submit objections until April 13. The final results for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 are expected to be announced on April 17 through the official website. The agency has advised students to rely only on verified information from the official NTA website to avoid unnecessary anxiety. This incident adds to a series of controversies surrounding the NTA. In the past year, the agency faced criticism for technical glitches in other national-level exams and errors in previous answer keys. Each controversy has amplified demands for a regulatory overhaul and increased transparency in the examination process.

As students await the final results, the pressure is mounting on the NTA to address these issues promptly. The stakes are high, as even a single mark can significantly influence a candidate's future in competitive engineering admissions. The academic community is calling for immediate corrective measures to restore faith in the examination system and ensure fairness for all aspirants.
