4 Indian Schools Finalists for 2025 Best School Prizes

Four schools from India have been named among the top 10 global finalists for the 2025 World's Best School Prizes, hosted by UK-based T4 Education. These annual awards celebrate schools making extraordinary contributions in education, innovation, health, environment, and community development. This year's Indian finalists represent the states of Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh, each standing out in one of the five prize categories.

The competition was launched to recognize educational institutions transforming lives and communities, especially in the wake of challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Winners will be announced in October, followed by a global showcase at the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi on November 15–16, 2025.

Among the Indian finalists is Government Girls Senior Secondary School, NIT 5 (Faridabad, Haryana), nominated in the Supporting Healthy Lives category. The school has built a comprehensive wellness model that blends physical health, nutrition, and mental well-being with strong academic focus, aimed at empowering girls from disadvantaged communities.

ZP School Jalindar Nagar (Khed, Maharashtra) is a finalist in the Community Collaboration category. Known for its “Subject Friend” initiative, the school pairs older and younger students in mentorship roles, promoting peer-led learning and strengthening school community ties.

In the Innovation category, Ekya School, J P Nagar (Bengaluru, Karnataka), has gained recognition for its Design Thinking-based curriculum. The school empowers students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on empathy, creativity, and real-world impact.

Delhi Public School, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) has made the top 10 in the Environmental Action category. The school’s student-led initiatives emphasize sustainability, climate awareness, and social responsibility, fostering a generation of environmentally conscious citizens.

The awards also include a Community Choice Award, open to public voting. The final decisions in each category will be made by an expert judging panel. All finalist schools will be invited to share their models, innovations, and practices at the Abu Dhabi summit, which brings together global education leaders, influencers, and policymakers.

Vikas Pota, founder of T4 Education, emphasized the broader impact of schools in shaping society. “In schools like these, we see the ideas and leadership that give us real hope for the future. Whether it's climate change, AI, or inequality, it starts with education,” he said.

T4 Education is a global education network that connects over 200,000 educators from more than 100 countries. Through the World’s Best School Prizes, it aims to foster global collaboration, promote innovation in learning, and highlight schools that are making meaningful changes in and beyond classrooms.
