First Look of Lord’s Pitch for India vs England Test – It’s Green!

The third Test of the India vs England series at Lord's is set to be an exciting battle with a green pitch that could offer some assistance to the pacers. The pitch for the 3rd Test was revealed on July 8, 2025, showing a surface with well-watered grass, which is expected to provide more pace and bounce. England, after suffering a crushing defeat in Edgbaston, has requested a pitch that suits their fast bowlers, including Jofra Archer, who is returning from injury.

The pitch at Lord's is expected to be lively, with more bounce and movement, which should challenge the Indian batsmen. England coach Brendon McCullum has asked the groundsmen to prepare a surface with "plenty of life in it" to bring the best out of Archer and Gus Atkinson, who missed the second Test due to injury. McCullum's request is inspired by the World Test Championship final, where fast bowlers like Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada thrived on pitches offering significant seam movement.

India, who leveled the series 1-1 in Edgbaston, will be without the conditions that favored their fast bowlers in the second Test. However, Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the previous match, will be back to lead the Indian pace attack. The combination of Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep will also be crucial in responding to the expected challenges from England's pace bowlers.

The match at Lord’s starts on July 10, and the prospect of a fast-paced, high-bounce pitch promises an exciting contest. Both teams will look to capitalize on the conditions to push for a win, with England aiming to bounce back after their heavy loss in Edgbaston and India seeking to maintain their momentum.
