Tomorrowland, the world’s largest electronic dance music (EDM) festival, is about to make its grand debut in Asia with Thailand and China as the first two host countries. After years of being a global phenomenon, Tomorrowland is expanding its immersive experience to a whole new audience. The festival, known for its grandiose stage designs, techno beats, vibrant crowds, and magical atmosphere, will bring its iconic style to Asia for the first time, starting with Shanghai, China in November 2025.
In Shanghai, the festival will present “The Magic of Tomorrowland”, the first-ever indoor version of the event. It will take place at the Hero Dome near the Bund waterfront, offering an immersive world where music, light, and imagination come together beneath one roof. This one-night-only event promises stunning stage designs from some of the world’s most renowned DJs and artists. Although the line-up has yet to be revealed, tickets for the experience are set to go live in September 2025.
However, the grandest attraction will be Tomorrowland’s full-scale festival debut in Thailand, slated for December 2026 in Chonburi, a seaside town near Bangkok. The festival will be modelled on its Belgium counterpart, with immersive villages, multiple stages, VIP packages, and a global artist lineup. This event will seamlessly blend Thai culture with the electronic music scene, creating a unique fusion of regional charm and global EDM culture.
Thailand’s involvement with Tomorrowland brings global attention to its rich traditions, tourism, and vibrant local culture. The festival's presence in Thailand is expected to boost tourism, benefiting the local economy. Additionally, it will appeal to experiential travellers seeking unique cultural and musical experiences, a rising trend in global tourism.
Tomorrowland’s expansion into Southeast Asia will significantly contribute to the region's thriving tourism industry. The estimated investment for the event is expected to reach several billion baht, with an annual budget of approximately US$10 million, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
With 20 years of success in Belgium, Tomorrowland is no stranger to drawing large crowds from across the globe, and its expansion into Asia is expected to attract even more fans. The festival’s immersive experience, combined with Thailand's tourism potential, is poised to create one of the most sought-after events in Southeast Asia.
Tomorrowland has become more than just a festival it's a global cultural phenomenon that unites music lovers from all walks of life. As it moves forward in expanding to new continents, it continues to push the boundaries of what a music festival can be.
