Frisco Resident Wins $2 Million Powerball Prize from July 9 Drawing

A Frisco resident is celebrating a $2 million Powerball win from the July 9, 2025, drawing. The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased the second-tier winning ticket at Walmart Supercenter #5866, located at 8555 Preston Road in Frisco.

The winning ticket matched all five white ball numbers (5-9-25-28-69), but did not match the red Powerball number (5). However, the prize was multiplied to $2 million due to the winner opting for the Power Play option, which automatically sets the prize at $2 million for a Power Play Match Five (5+0), regardless of the Power Play number chosen.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT, with grand prizes starting at $20 million and continuing to grow until a jackpot winner is found.

Since its launch in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated over $41 billion in revenue for the state, awarding more than $92 billion in prizes to players. Over $35 billion has been contributed to the Foundation School Fund, supporting public education in Texas, and the Texas Lottery has also contributed over $273 million to programs assisting Texas veterans. Players must be 18 or older to participate in Texas Lottery games like Powerball, Mega Millions, and Lotto Texas.
