Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Lifts Seal on Bigg Boss Kannada House After KSPCB Closure

In a major relief to the Kannada entertainment industry, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has ordered the lifting of the seal on the Bigg Boss Kannada house, located in Jollywood Studios, Bidadi. This decision comes just days after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) issued a closure notice to the premises due to alleged environmental violations.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), DK Shivakumar stated that he has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru South District to remove the seal, allowing filming activities to resume. In his statement, the Deputy CM emphasized that while environmental compliance is crucial, the studio would be granted time to rectify the issues as per the KSPCB’s guidelines.

The decision has sparked mixed reactions among the public and environmental activists. While many in the film and television industry welcomed the Deputy CM’s swift intervention, critics questioned the government's priorities, raising concerns about relaxing enforcement for a commercial TV show at the cost of environmental standards.

Bigg Boss Kannada, hosted by superstar Sudeep, has a massive following, and the sudden closure had raised uncertainty over the future of Season 12. However, with the seal lifted, the production is now back on track, much to the relief of fans and the showrunners.

Responding to the news, Sudeep expressed heartfelt thanks to Deputy CM DK Shivakumar for his prompt action. He also acknowledged the support from Nalpad and others involved in resolving the matter. Sudeep clarified that the show had no connection with the disturbances that led to the original closure order.
