A man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman during a domestic dispute at a Fort Worth apartment complex, according to police.

Fort Worth officers responded to a shooting call around 9 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment located at 3720 Post Oak Blvd. When officers arrived, they found a woman inside the apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred during a domestic altercation. The suspect initially fled the scene but later contacted authorities, admitting that he had shot the victim. He was located and taken into custody in Irving soon after the incident.

Police have not released the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin, and the specific relationship between the victim and suspect remains under investigation. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to release further details as the case develops.

Third Domestic Fatality in North Texas This Week

The Fort Worth case marks the third deadly domestic violence incident in North Texas within three days — a tragic trend emerging during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Earlier this week, a Carrollton woman, Briana Casto (24), was found dead from a gunshot wound, allegedly at the hands of her boyfriend, Jomaar Lee Davis, who later took his own life during a police standoff in Van Alstyne.

In a separate incident, Alvarado High School teacher Chelsea Spillers (33) was found dead in her home on October 18. Her husband, Brandon Ashley, was later arrested in Bedias, Texas, and charged with murder.
