Pop Mart opens new store at Westfield Old Orchard mall in Skokie

Pop Mart, the globally recognized designer toy retailer known for drawing long lines of collectors, has officially opened a new location at Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, Illinois. The debut marks the company’s sixth store in the state and reflects the brand’s continued retail expansion across the Chicago metropolitan area.

According to the company’s announcement, the storefront quietly began welcoming customers over the weekend. The new shop is situated on the north side of the popular suburban shopping center, near Macy’s and within close proximity to Zara, Shake Shack and Molly’s Cupcakes. While the soft launch is already underway, officials say a formal grand opening celebration is scheduled for March.

The Skokie location will feature many of Pop Mart’s most sought-after collections, including its widely popular blind box toys that have fueled a surge in demand among collectors. Shoppers can expect to find signature characters such as Molly, Dimoo and Skullpanda, along with the highly coveted Labubu “Time to Chill” plush, which has become a standout item within the brand’s lineup.

Pop Mart has built a strong following worldwide by blending pop culture appeal with the surprise-driven blind box format, where buyers do not know which figure they will receive until the package is opened. The model has proven especially successful with younger consumers and dedicated toy collectors, helping the company rapidly expand its physical retail footprint in recent years.

The new Old Orchard store joins existing Illinois locations at Woodfield Mall, Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont, Orland Square Mall, Oakbrook Center and the company’s prominent Michigan Avenue flagship. That downtown Chicago store drew national attention in spring 2025 when enthusiastic fans queued overnight in hopes of securing rare Labubu releases.

With the Skokie opening, Pop Mart continues to strengthen its presence in the Midwest retail market. The upcoming grand opening is expected to draw significant interest from collectors and casual shoppers alike, further underscoring the growing popularity of designer toys in mainstream retail spaces.
