CBSE Class 12 Revaluation Portal Glitch Raises OSM Trust Concerns

CBSE Revaluation Row Puts Digital Evaluation Under Scrutiny

CBSE’s Class 12 revaluation process is facing fresh questions after students raised concerns over answer-sheet mismatches, portal glitches, and the On-Screen Marking system. The issue began when some students claimed that scanned answer sheets shown during verification did not match their handwriting. CBSE later acknowledged discrepancies and started a review, but questions remain over how the mix-up happened and whether more students were affected.

Portal Glitch Adds Pressure

The controversy widened after CBSE’s revaluation portal payment system was reportedly hit by a malicious attack. Around 50 students allegedly gained unauthorised access, causing unusual fee displays from Re 1 to nearly Rs 67,000–68,000. Experts from IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and digital infrastructure teams are examining the system. CBSE has also added more bank payment gateways to improve the portal process.

OSM Trust Concerns

The row has also brought CBSE’s OSM system under scrutiny. While some schools praised the digital evaluation reform, many students and parents continue to seek clearer answers on preparedness, training, and transparency. The revaluation portal is expected to reopen on June 1, 2026, but the larger challenge for CBSE is rebuilding trust in its digital evaluation system.
