Samsung U.S. HQ Move to Plano Puts Legacy Central in Focus

Samsung U.S. headquarters move to Plano will shift Samsung Electronics America’s U.S. base from New Jersey to North Texas, placing the company’s Legacy Central campus at the center of its next phase of U.S. growth.

A Samsung spokesperson confirmed that the company is relocating its U.S. headquarters from New Jersey to its existing campus in Plano, Texas. The move is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Samsung said the relocation is part of a broader business transformation designed to position the company for long-term growth and future success in the United States.

“Samsung Electronics America Inc. is undergoing a business transformation designed to better position our organization for long-term growth and future success,” a Samsung spokesperson said in a statement.

The company said the Plano move builds on Samsung’s 30-year presence in Texas. Its existing campus is located in the Legacy area of Plano, near Tennyson Parkway and Communications Parkway.

What Happens to Samsung’s New Jersey Office?

The headquarters move comes less than a year after Samsung opened a major office facility in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The company has not said whether it will fully leave that facility, reduce operations there, or continue using it for some teams.

Samsung also has not confirmed exactly how many employees will relocate to Texas.

The company said the transition will affect some workers and that support will be provided to those impacted. Samsung did not provide specific details about layoffs, job transfers, department changes, or future hiring plans.

Why the Samsung Plano Move Matters

For Plano and the Dallas area, Samsung’s headquarters relocation adds another major technology name to North Texas and strengthens the region’s appeal as a corporate hub.

For New Jersey, the move raises questions about the future role of Samsung’s Englewood Cliffs office and how the company’s U.S. operations will be divided after the transition is completed.

Samsung said it remains committed to its U.S. investments as it works to build a stronger foundation for innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
