Amid Jana Nayagan Row, Vijay Attends Chennai Wedding With Jagan Reddy

Amid mounting uncertainty surrounding his much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan, actor-turned-politician Vijay made a notable public appearance at a high-profile wedding in Chennai on Sunday, drawing widespread attention from fans and political observers alike. The appearance comes at a time when speculation continues to swirl around both the film’s delayed release and Vijay’s political future in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay attended the wedding of Sahil, son of YS Sunil Reddy, and Vedika, held at a prominent venue in Chennai. Dressed in a crisp white shirt, coordinated trousers and a beige blazer, the actor arrived in a relaxed and approachable mood. Eyewitnesses said Vijay was warmly welcomed with a bouquet and quickly became the centre of attention as guests gathered around him. Videos and photographs from the event showed him smiling, shaking hands, and engaging in conversations with ease, reflecting his enduring popularity beyond cinema.

One of the most talked-about moments from the wedding was Vijay’s interaction with Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief of the YSR Congress Party. The two were seen chatting and posing for pictures, visuals that soon went viral across social media platforms. The presence of actor Suriya at the same event added to the star power of the gathering, making the wedding a focal point for fans and the entertainment media.

Fans attending the ceremony expressed excitement at seeing Vijay in person, especially amid his reduced public appearances in recent months. Before leaving the venue, he paused to pose for photographs with several admirers, many of whom shared the moments online, leading to an outpouring of positive reactions.

Vijay’s appearance comes against the backdrop of ongoing issues surrounding Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. The film, widely believed to be Vijay’s final project before he formally enters active politics, has been caught in a certification row. Originally scheduled for release on January 9, the film is still awaiting clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification.

The Madras High Court recently set aside an earlier direction related to the film’s certification and referred the matter back to a lower bench. Meanwhile, the CBFC has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court, seeking to be heard before any orders are passed regarding the film’s release. Neither the producers, KVN Productions, nor the CBFC have issued official statements so far.

Jana Nayagan features an ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. As Vijay prepares for a possible full-time political role through his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, each public appearance is being closely watched. His presence at the Chennai wedding, amid cinematic and political developments, once again underscored his unique position at the intersection of cinema and politics.
