Andhra Pradesh Covid cases have increased to 26 after seven fresh infections were detected across Guntur, East Godavari and Bapatla, but officials have ruled out a cluster outbreak.
Andhra Pradesh Covid Cases Rise Across Districts
Andhra Pradesh reported seven new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday, increasing the state’s total number of confirmed cases to 26. The Health Department said the fresh infections were recorded in separate districts and were not connected to any known cluster.
Four of the latest cases were detected in Guntur district, while East Godavari reported two and Bapatla recorded one. Officials said the distribution of cases across multiple locations indicates sporadic transmission rather than a concentrated outbreak.
Residents have been advised to remain alert, follow respiratory hygiene and seek medical care if symptoms develop, particularly among elderly people and those with underlying conditions.
District-Wise Covid Cases Show Kadapa With Highest Tally
Kadapa has reported the highest number of Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh so far, with eight infections. Guntur follows with six cases, while East Godavari has recorded three.
Kakinada and Bapatla have reported two cases each. Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, NTR and Parvathipuram Manyam districts have each confirmed one infection.
Health officials said the cases are spread across the state and there is no evidence that a single location is driving the increase. District surveillance teams are continuing to track patients and possible contacts.
Patient Status and Covid Testing Updated by Health Department
Of the 26 people who tested positive, 10 are receiving treatment in hospitals and nine are under home isolation. Three patients have recovered and were discharged after treatment.
Four deaths have been reported among people diagnosed with Covid-19. The Health Department said all four patients had pre-existing medical conditions before testing positive.
A total of 145 samples have been tested in Andhra Pradesh so far. Authorities are continuing to test suspected cases and monitor people with respiratory symptoms to identify infections early.
Health Officials Rule Out Covid Cluster Outbreak
The Health Department reiterated that the infections reported so far remain sporadic and are not part of a cluster outbreak. Officials said no district has shown evidence of a large, linked chain of transmission.
Covid-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and commonly leads to mild or moderate respiratory illness. However, older adults and people with diabetes, heart disease, chronic respiratory illness or cancer may face a greater risk of severe disease.
Residents have been urged not to panic but to take sensible precautions, including covering coughs and sneezes, maintaining hand hygiene and avoiding close contact with vulnerable people when experiencing fever, cough or breathing difficulties. With seven new infections reported on Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh’s Covid-19 tally now stands at 26. Health authorities continue to monitor the situation and maintain that the cases are scattered across districts, with no cluster outbreak identified.
