The Bengaluru airport hotel deaths have prompted a police investigation into child deaths after two sisters were found dead and their father injured. Officers are also examining a family dispute note recovered from the room as they work to establish the motive.
Police investigation into child deaths
Two sisters, aged five and 10, were found dead inside a room at a five-star hotel near Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, while their 40-year-old father was discovered with serious injuries after an alleged suicide attempt, police said.
The man, identified by police as SG Imran, is a resident of Nagawara in north Bengaluru. Investigators allege that he killed his daughters inside the hotel room before injuring himself. He was taken to a hospital and is undergoing treatment. Police said he is out of danger.
Hotel security personnel reportedly entered the room after hearing screams. Staff members immediately alerted the authorities and arranged for the injured man to be shifted to a hospital. Kempegowda Airport police later arrived at the hotel, secured the room and began collecting evidence.
According to preliminary information shared by investigators, both children were strangled. Their bodies were sent for medical examination, and police are awaiting detailed forensic and post-mortem findings.
Authorities are examining hotel records, available security footage and other evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events. Investigators are also expected to question hotel employees and family members to determine what happened before the children were found.
Police have not yet released complete details about when the family arrived at the hotel or what occurred in the hours before the incident. The father’s statement is expected to be recorded after doctors declare him medically fit to participate in the investigation.
Family dispute note recovered
DCP North East GK Mithun Kumar said police recovered a note allegedly written by Imran. According to investigators, the note referred to a marital dispute and claimed that he suspected his wife of having a relationship with another person.
The note also reportedly claimed that he possessed evidence supporting his suspicions. Police have not independently confirmed those allegations, and the contents of the note should not be treated as established facts.
Investigators are examining whether the marital dispute mentioned in the note had any connection to the deaths. Officers are expected to verify the claims by speaking with people connected to the family and reviewing available records.
“We are verifying the exact reason behind the deaths,” the DCP said, adding that police were investigating the case from every possible angle.
The recovery of a note may provide investigators with one line of inquiry, but police said the final conclusion would depend on medical reports, forensic evidence, witness statements and other verified material. They are also working to establish whether any events outside the hotel contributed to the incident.
The case involves the deaths of two young children, making careful and responsible reporting essential. Unverified accusations involving family members should not be presented as facts while the investigation remains underway.
Kempegowda Airport police are continuing their inquiry into the two deaths and the alleged suicide attempt. Further legal action is expected after investigators receive the forensic reports and record the injured father’s statement.
